The Bay Area constantly astounds me with its generosity and passion to make the world a better place. There are so many non-profits and fundraisers it’s impossible to keep track of and support them all. But, if you can combine a fun night out (which Bay Area locals are also known for) of rock, reggae, magic, dance and classical music with fundraising, Why not? You know you were going out anyway!

On Thursday April 15, the 111 Minna Gallery the American Diabetes Association, BISS Entertainment, Bay Vibes, WomenRock and Advanced Home Energy come together to present SUGAR RUSH, a benefit concert for The American Diabetes Association.

Musical acts will include a variety of local Bay Area artists: essence, Dogman Joe, Valerie Orth, Ziva, RYP, Kindness & Lies, Alice Tong, Israel Matos & Danny Cao, Bernadette, Whitney Nichole, Steve Taylor-Ramirez, Debbie Neigher, Julia Jurkiewicz & Beeri Moalem.

SUGAR RUSH will also include live dance by the Cheese Puffs and Cari & Eve, comedy by Toby Muresianu, live painting by Suzie Ferras & Local 365 and DJ Kipp Glass.

The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The organization leads the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fights for  those affected by researching to prevent, cure and manage diabetes. The
American Diabetes Association delivers services to hundreds of communities,  provides objective and credible information and gives a voice to those denied  their rights because of diabetes.

In the U.S. 7.8% of the population have diabetes.
