Everyone seems to be going green now days and it’s no surprise many beauty products are doing their part as well. EVOLVh is a environmentally friendly hair care line developed by a family-owned business right here in the Bay Area.
The EVOLVh line is very simple and the company’s founder, Boris Oak, says that’s the point. “The line is minimal by design. We wanted to simplify having beautiful hair for both the stylist and the client.”
In 2007 Oak teamed up with chemist Gary Smith to create the organic product line and both of them shared the same interest of creating a salon-quality product without any harsh chemicals. Smith’s resume includes working with Jhirmack in 70’s and later becoming the “S” in KMS.
The EVOLVh line consists of: a shampoo, conditioner, styling creme, styling lotion, finishing balm and hairspray. The ingredients used in the products are almost entirely organic or naturally based, and there are no harsh or toxic chemicals. “Even for fragrance, we use essential oils derived from plants, rather than a synthetic fragrance. And we use natural preservatives, instead of parabens, “ says Oak.
The UltraShine shampoo and conditioner is sulfate-free and is suitable for all hair-types, including color treated. The TotalControl styling creme can shape a wet to dry look and add body, shine and texture to a blow-dry style. For curly-haired types, the ULTIMATE styling lotion is recommended to manage those curls, but it can also add body to those with fine hair.
Addicted to the sleek Jennifer Aniston look? Try the SuperFinish polishing balm to add shine and tame fly-aways. Last but not least, the UltraFlex hairspray offers a strong hold, but leaves hair “clean and soft to the touch.” No crunchy hairspray hair over here!
Not only are the ingredients inside the bottle good for Mother Earth, but Oak says the bottle itself is too.
