This Saturday, February 2nd from 8:30 am to 4pm the Valley Center for the Performing Arts at Holy Names University located at 3500 Mountain Blvd in Oakland, CA 94619 will be hosting a Bay area social justice forum.
This year's forum will be focused on People of Hope and the Agents of Change. There are two keynote speakers this year and they are David Batstone who serves as co-founder and president of Not For Sale. He leads the organization's strategic and financial opportunities to create tools that engage business, government and grassroots in order to incubate and grow social enterprises to benefit enslaved and vulnerable communities. Also, Rev Deborah Lee is the Director of the Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights, a program of Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice-California.
After these speakers there will workshops in the morning and afternoon. These workshops include 1A. Organizing for Social Change - Professor Claudia Albano, UC Berkeley
