Bay Area Shuckers destroy Palmieiri Jeans perfect record

Before coming to the Kilby Center on Saturday, February 18, the Palmieiri Jeans (formerly the Destroyers) from Delaware had a perfect 7-0 record. They are leading the league with hopes of winning the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL) championship. However, the Bay Area Shuckers handed them their first loss of the season with a score of 133 to 123. Go Shuckers!

The Shuckers played hard and fast. Team leader, Adrian Bowie led the way with 36 points. Jamarr Johnson recorded 23 points. Derek Savage made 21. The Delaware team was led by Fahreed Cheatham with 41 points.

The Bay Area Shuckers took the lead in the first quarter and maintained that lead at the end of the first half. The Palmieiri Jeans kept battling to close the gap; but, while the score got closer, the Shuckers were still in the lead at the end of the third quarter. A late game rally closed an 18 point spread to just 10 points at the final buzzer.

They return home to the Annapolis Area Christian School's Kilby Center (109 Burns Crossing Road, Severn MD) on Saturday, March 3 where they will face the Garden State Rebels (5-3) for the first time.

Mark your calendar for April 1. The Bay Area Shuckers will host the ACPBL All Star Game
