Bay Area Idol Competition: Finding The Most Talented Singers In The Bay Area (Photos)

The lights, the applause, and a moment to shine on stage…
Singing the perfect song, dressing to impress, and going for a dream…
One competitor will chosen and become the Bay Area Idol Houston.

The preliminary competition for the first annual Bay Area Houston Idol, a YourTownTV.com, LLC Production, began in January. This event was formed to find the most talented singers Bay Area Houston has to offer and help them kick start their career in the music industry.

Only 30 contestants were allowed in each preliminary and given a three minute song limit. To get more information, visit www.bayareahoustonidol.com.

At the end of the night, a panel of local judges chose nine contestants to move on to the semi-final round. A “people’s choice” vote chose the 10th contestant who also moved forward! Contestant Brian Criss, a La Marque resident, was the first people’s choice vote winner to go to the semi-final round.

Criss and the other contestants competed for a chance to win $1,000, a publicity campaign with YourTownTv.com, recognized with an article in a future issue of The SCENE Magazine, a record label consult with A-Blake Records, a private concert, and more!

The semi-finals were completed in February and the finals were held on Tuesday, March 5. Josie Arias took home first place and was celebrated as the winner. More informtion on Ms. Arias will be coming up in the following weeks.

All of the events took place at The Hut at La Brisa Mexican Restaurant, located at 501 N. Wesley Drive in League City.
