Bay area event schedule for January 2013

The new edition of spinsheet magazine has hit the streets, and with it comes this months events calendar. Each month I will try to rip off their hard work, and highlight some events you may not otherwise take notice of. All calendar events can be found in the current issue of spinsheet, at www.spinsheet.com. This months issue also contains an article on boating safety on page 32 by yours truly.
Jan 4 is the deadline for nominations for the Maryland Clean Marina Initiative.
Jan 5 there is a line splicing seminar from 10am to noon at the West Marine in Annapolis, MD.
Jan 8 there is an advanced piloting class sponsored by the Rockville sail and power squadron, at the Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, MD.
Jan 9 is a Spinsheet ice skating night 6 to 9pm at quiet waters park, Annapolis, MD.
Jan 12 is a boating 101 seminar at the West Marine in Annapolis, MD.
Jan 12 there is a Windjammers lecture featuring Puma skipper, Ken Read, speaking about the Volvo Ocean Race, at the Severn School, Severna Park, MD.
Jan 19 there is a Garmkn 101 class at the West Marine in Annapolis, MD.
Jan 23 Gary Jobson will be speaking at Fawcetts Marine Store, in Annapolis, MD.
Jan 26 there is a class called "Boating at the Next Level" at the West Marine in Annapolis, MD.
Jan 28 through Feb 6 there is a boating safety class sponsored by the Potomac Power Squadron from 7 to 9pm at the Walter Johnson High School, in Bethesda, MD.
