Bawdy Storytelling: Only in San Francisco

Dixie De La Tour is a spectacular hostess!

Do you think you're cultured? I bet you do. Have you been to Bawdy Storytelling? You should.

I made it to the past show on Wed May 12 2010. Bawdy is:

a monthly storytelling event that features real people sharing their bona fide sexual exploits in 10 minutes or less. Storytellers are an eclectic mix of authors, poets, comedians and actors - along with a handful of real people just like you who have submitted their stories online and were chosen for their panache and sense of misadventure.

It's kind of like this: Writers With Drinks went to confession and Porchlight Storytelling was the priest. WWD had a lot to say, and Porchlight got bored, so the confessional became a two-way. And when that happened, WWD tried to be even more outrageous, which is good because to do that she had to speak from the heart. Porchlight was impressed. She said, You know … we should do this monthly. We should get together once a month and tell bawdy stories to each other. But what should we call it? Since neither Writers With Porchlights nor Porchlight WIth Drinks makes much sense, the new pair decided they really want to make sure people know what they're going to get: Bawdy Storytelling!

You won't be disappointed. Bawdy is every second Wednesday @ The Blue Macaw.

Here's a good taste of things to come:

Melissa Hoobler started things off with a good yarn, but she wants to meet you in person.

Ames Beezer

Cookie Dominatrix Clown

Sister Mabel Syrup

J-Delicious

Paul Addis

Mollena

What, really? Still asking for more?

I love me some Bawdy storytelling. That was a particularly good night for stories, too. It is such a cool way to meat...err, meet new people too.

Bawdy Storytelling is sometimes hilarious, sometimes touching, and always sexy. And if the stories make you all hot-and-bothered, well, there's a roomful of people feeling the same way....
