Yesterday, EA confirmed that a new “FIFA” and “Battlefield” game would be released for next generation consoles next year, which is expected to be the Xbox 720 and PS4. This information comes from an earnings call for Q3 of 2013 that was made by EA yesterday.
As a part of this earnings call that was brought to our attention by IGN yesterday, EA's John Riccitiello said “We’re also investing in Gen 4 console technologies and content. We’ve signalled that we’re working on the next editions of our two biggest franchises in Battlefield and FIFA. And, we look forward to discussing these programs and many others with you when we provide our FY14 guidance in May.”
In conjunction with this, EA's Frank Gibeau said that EA would be launching a new installation of the “Battlefield” franchise next year. With this being said, it is expected that this title will be released for the Xbox 720 and PS4. As stated above, EA plans to reveal more information about these titles very soon.
