'Battlefield 4' reveal coming at end of March

Electronic Arts and DICE announced Friday that Battlefield 4 for the PS4, Xbox 720, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC will be unveiled during a press event in San Francisco on March 26.

The Battlefield 4 event has been confirmed with multiple gaming outlets reporting that they've received the same official invitation from DICE that reads, "Please join us to celebrate a new era of Battlefield."

Battlefield 4 was first hinted at with an unintentional leak on EA's Origin service Medal of Honor: Warfighter pre-orders. A more formal announcement was later made and it has since been confirmed that it will be coming to the next-gen PS4 and Xbox 720 consoles.

Electronic Arts has taken to releasing the Battlefield and Medal of Honor series at the end of October in recent years to get the jump on Activision's Call of Duty franchise. We'll likely see a staggered release of current-gen and PC versions of the shooter in October followed by next-gen released not long after the PS4 and Xbox 720 make their debuts at retail.
