It was recently revealed that PC players could preload the beta on September 29. The Battlefield 4 Beta would start October 1st for those that pre-ordered Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe, had Premium for Battlefield 3 or bought Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition. As of this post we can confirm that gamers in the exclusive beta can preload it via Origin.
The Battlefield blog provided some information that beta testers will need. One odd piece of news that was revealed is that PC players will need a 64 bit OS for the beta. Some will likely be pretty disappointed in the news. The post also confirms the map for the beta, Siege of Shanghai which features a collapsible skyscraper. The smaller nuances of leveloution, as Dice calls it, seem to be interesting ways to alter the battle. We’ve been given examples of raising bollards to stop armor, lowering shutter games or even shutting off the power in a room so the lights go out. Some of the tweaks to Battlelog look great and should have been in from the start. BF4 features an in-game Battlelog overlay, so no more alt+tabbing just to see something in Battlelog.
For those not in the exclusive beta, the open beta launches on October 4th. For those that are curious about the game but not in the exclusive beta, check back Tuesday evening for a 720p stream. If you would like to bookmark the stream page head over here. Additionally the stream will be announced via twitter here. And with some luck, we could even have the chance to stream early.
Or if you are in the beta starting Tuesday, why not add me? Origin ID is MichaelVash7886
