‘Battlefield 4’ for PS4 and Xbox 720 announcement date hinted by EA (Photos)

In an earnings call on Jan. 30, EA hinted at a possible announcement date for the upcoming “Battlefield 4,” which is rumored to be coming to the PS4 and Xbox 720 among other systems. According to a report by Video Gamer, The publisher revealed that the sequel will be released in 2014. They also mentioned, although they currently have no new on the project, they will show off their future plans for the franchise “in about 90 days.” You can check out some concept images of the PS4 and Xbox 720 in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from EA below (courtesy of Video Gamer):

We've already talked a little bit about that we have a Battlefield title coming next year, but we're not in a position right now to talk about our development plans and our SKU plan long term. That will come in about 90 days when we get to show you some Battlefield stuff.

According to rumors, “Battlefield 4” will be released by EA on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 systems in addition to the aforementioned PS4 and Xbox 720. The PC and next-generation console versions will feature better graphics, including being able to run at 60 frames per second, and 64-player multiplayer maps. A beta for “Battlefield 4” is slated to launch later this year.
