Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment has posted an update in regards to the CE-34878-0 errors that are still plaguing the recently-released “Battlefield 4” on the PS4. According to a report from Video Gamer on Dec. 13, the development studio disclosed that this particular issue may not be related to the first-person shooter as it appears to be a more general problem with the PS4 hardware. You can find a selection of screenshots from the latest mainline “Battlefield” installment in the slideshow to the left of this article and the comment below:
This is in fact a general error code that you can receive when the game has crashed for a number of different reasons that are not related.
Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment went on to state that the development team need help to determine the root cause of the problem. Fans are encouraged to send in reports every time they encounter a crash during online matches. The studio is looking to reproduce the issues (such as the types of modes as well as the maps) that are causing the problems. You can check out the statement below:
You can help us to identify these individual issues by providing a few details in the crash report (we read all of them.) For example what game mode you were playing and on what map you crashed. Doing this will help us a lot to reproduce the issues and investigate fixes for them in upcoming patches.
“Battlefield 4” was released in North America for the PS4 on Nov. 15, the same date as the launch of Sony’s next-generation system. Despite numerous hot fixes and big patches, players are still reporting the CE-34878-0 errors along with more issues. The same video game is also plagued with other problems on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.
