To celebrate the first weekend after the launch of Battlefield 4, players were supposed to receive a double experience boost within DICE’s latest installment of their popular shooter franchise. However, numerous fans are reporting that the bonus is unexpectedly disappearing. The developer addressed these concerns via the official Battlefield Twitter account on Nov 2 in order to both confirm the issues and to reassure fans that they are investigating the cause of the problems. DICE also reassured players that they will redo the double experience event once the issues are resolved in order to make sure that everyone gets the bonus.
Battlefield 4 is out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. The game is also headed to next-gen consoles with launches for both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One coming later this month. Fans can opt to pick up the game and then upgrade to a next-gen copy for a nominal fee, fully transferring all unlocks and progress with them. Those who experience the PC, Xbox One, or Playstation 4 versions of the game can participate in multiplayer matches that feature over 60 players. Like many upcoming Electronic Arts published titles, Battlefield 4 was developed using DICE’s new Frostbite 3 development engine.
