BattleBlock Theater closed beta starts February 28th

The Behemoth (the makers of Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid) are looking for beta testers for their next title, BattleBlock Theater. Only 10,000 people will be able to participate in this closed beta which begins February 28th, 2013.

Some of the beta testers have already been notified of their acceptance according to The Behemoth's official blog.

The beta will include a few levels from each arena mode, story levels, and the level editor.

There are 8 arena modes in BattleBlock Theater: Soul, Muckle, Challenge, King of the Hill, Color the Wind, Grab the Gold, Ball Game, and Horse. The developer blog does state, however, that these names may change in the future. For more information on these modes, check out the developer blog entry from February 7th.

To be part of this closed beta, you must be registered to The Behemoth forums, have a working Xbox 360, an Xbox Live Gold account, agree to the terms of service, and be at least 13 years of age or older. Additionally you must complete the task list while participating in the beta which includes taking notes, surveys, and join player matches.

BattleBlock Theater is a 2D platforming adventure that will include single player and co-op campaigns. The release date is yet to be determined and will be for Xbox Live Arcade.
