This weekend kicks off with some live entertainment at the Varsity Theatre with Kevin Fowler on Friday night. Fowler brings a new face and voice to the country music scene in Baton Rouge and nationally. Fowler has a new CD out titled "Chippin Away" with the first single hitting the airwaves now titled "That Girl."
Fowler is definitely a country music artist and describes his music as--“It’s country with a bad attitude. It’s country with an edge. It’s just beer-drinkin’, hell-raisin’, good-time music.” With this being said, don't miss this concert Friday, February 24, 2012 at The Varsity in Baton Rouge. The concert is scheduled to start at 8:00 pm with a cover of only $12.00. It's going to be a fun concert!
This one isn't country, but totally worth mentioning for the classic rock fans. Styx will be in town at The Texas Club Friday night rocking the house. This will be a great show to catch and one to remember.
Saturday night's live entertainment will be down at The Moonlight Inn in Maurepas, LA featuring Mustang Sally, an all girls band. Before you shrug this one off, take a look and listen at their sound --it's all country, and quite good! This concert will be totally worth the short 45 minute drive out to Maurepas. The Moonlight Inn is located at 16757 Hwy. 42.
Mustang Sally is fresh off a gig headlining the 35th Anniversary of the Mardi Gras Ball in Mobile, Alabama at the Civic Center. The band is currently touring the United States and will head to Monroe, LA to play on March 3, 2012.
