Batman Wednesday comics for 2/17

Wednesday is here! Every comic fans favorite day of the week. So what new Batman comics will be arriving in stores today?

Justice League of America issue 42

Written by James Robinson

Art by Mark Bagley and Rob Hunter

This is one Dick Grayson fans have been waiting for. Dick is being offered membership in the Justice League. I'll be picking it up based on that fact alone.

Azrael issue 5

Written by Fabian Nicieza

Art by Ramon Bachs and John Stanisci

I love most of the Batman related stuff Fabian writes, but his Azrael has not been grabbing me. This political Middle East stuff hasn't really felt right for a Batbook either. I'm going to have to pass.

Batman issue 696

Written and illustrated by Tony Daniel

Tony Daniel's run on Batman has been hot and cold. He does get the Dark Knight's world and the rich supporting cast of heroes and villains in there. I'm taking it issue by issue and I'm looking forward to this one.

Batman: Streets of Gotham issue 9

Written by Paul Dini

Art by Dustin Nguyen

Unless Paul Dini is late again, we should be getting the rest of the Zsasz story. Dini is good when we get him and not a fill in writer (as we have on most of his recent releases). If this is the solicited story, it should be a good one.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold issue 14

Written by Landry Walker

Art by Eric Jones

If you're on a tight budget, skip this one. Otherwise, it's a fun series. We get a break from the crossovers and are able to enjoy a done in one issue. Huntress was fun when she was on the cartoon, and I'm sure the comic version of the "Boldverse" will follow suit.

Superman/Batman issue 69

Written by Joe Casey

Art by Ardian Syaf

This book hasn't been good in so long. I don't think anyone cares at this point. The "new direction" is to do "untold tales" during the major continuity events. This issue is "Our Worlds at War". If you didn't like it then, you may not like it now.

Tiny Titans issue 25

Geoff Johns will actually be guesting on this issue. It's a fun book but the shops rarely carry it. The jokes are for kids along with some inside jokes for longtime comics fans. Get it if you have a kid or follow everything Geoff Johns does.
