As comic book characters are becoming the new hot ticket for television shows, this fall of 2014 is no exception. Fox Entertainment has announced this past month to proceed with the production of a new television series called Gotham. Though audience might assume the same Gotham City where the legendary Cape Crusader resides, think again. This Gotham City storyline is pre-Batman period where James Gordon is just a homicide detective in Gotham’s Police Department, millionaire Bruce Wayne is only a boy of twelve whose parents were recently killed in a city where corruption, murder and crime lords strangle the life of Gotham city.

Though the concept of the show, created by Executive Director Bruno Heller, can write itself, casting for the new show has been a daunting task. As the pilot show will be directed by Danny Cannon, who directed Judge Dread, will have host of talented actors and actresses to bring Gotham City to life. Based on the characters of Batman created from Bob Kane, James Gordon will be played by Ben McKenzie, Bruce Wayne’s caring butler, Alfred Pennyworth, played by Sean Pertwee, Robert Lloyd Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, and Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock. Production will begin March 2014 in New York City and will debuting this fall on the Warner Brothers Channel (WB), check local listings and time.
