Batman reboot movie won't appear on the big screen until 2017

It'll be a good five years between TDKR and the upcoming Batman reboot movie, according a Jan. 23, 2013 report on DigitalSpy.com. According to the report, Warner Brothers studio would like to leave a gap between the Batman universe created by "The Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan's Batman and a new solo venture for the character.

That said, fans of TDKR won't have to wait until 2017 to see who Batman is going to be. The next time audiences will see the Dark Knight will be in 2015 in the "Justice League" movie. So far names like Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Armie Hammer have been associated with the project. Gordon-Levitt's reps have said that he's not "100% attached" to the Batman film, but that hasn't stopped people from speculating. (Forbes wondered if the denial was an attempt to put the feelers out to generate a public reaction, for example.)

"Justice League" will bring together characters like Batman, the Man of Steel (Superman), and others and is DC Comics answer to the Marvel Comics "The Avengers" movies.

Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight universe starred Christian Bale as Batman. Recent reports have indicated that the Joker in "The Dark Knight," Heath Ledger was also being considered for Batman/ Bruce Wayne.
