Batman cowls throughout the decades
DC Comics

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Batman’s debut in Detective Comics #27, DC comics is giving Batman his very own day with the fans on July 23, 2014. A special edition reimagining of one of the most iconic comic issues ever will be written by bestselling author Brad Meltzer (Identity Crisis) and be given out for free at participating comic shops. Retailers will also be handing out four different cowls representing Batman through various decades alongside a Batman cape. These are the masks available as listed on DC’s website:

• DETECTIVE COMICS #27: Batman’s first appearance, as drawn by Bob Kane
• BATMAN ’66: inspired by the classic TV series starring Adam West
• THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS: As drawn by Frank Miller
• DC COMICS – THE NEW 52: As drawn by Greg Capullo

The free comic will also be available to download online free of charge. Be sure to join in the festivities and grab yourself a free cape and cowl with your free comic book Wednesday, July 23rd at local participating comic retailers near you.
