The DLC was first teased in January with an image of the Wayne Foundation Humanitarian of the Year award covered in ice. Fans of "Batman: The Animated Series" should recognize it was during that award party when Victor Fries (aka Mr. Freeze) debuted his villainous self.

This all-inclusive story add on unveils the origin story of Mr. Freeze and how he came to be one of Batman's arch nemeses. Players have the ability to equip the powerful Batman Extreme Environment suit (XE) and will be introduced to several new gadgets, including the Thermal Gloves and Thermocharged Batarangs.

WB Games Vice President Ames Kirshen describes Cold, Cold Heart as a "big, open-world narrative-based DLC."

"We're super excited to give fans the origin of this great Batman character," Kirshen said. "It's like a mini chapter in the game ... This is in-game mission story content with a brand new story wrapped around Mr. Freeze in the Arkham Origins settings.
