Despite being released at the end of last week, "Batman: Arkham Origins" still saw healthy enough sales figures that it actually passed "Grand Theft Auto 5" according to a report released earlier today.
This third installment of the Batman series opened at the top of the weekly sales charts, but those numbers really weren't as good as the previous chapter. Arkham City saw twice as many copies sold in its first week on the market compared to Origins.
The game ended up selling the same amount of copies on par with Akrham Asylum. The newest game in the Dark Knight series managed to get the top spot in the sales rankings thanks in large part to "Grand Theft Auto 5" seeing its sales drop 28 percent from the prior week.
"Grand Theft Auto V" still managed to get the number two spot in the rankings, staying ahead of other games like FIFA 14. "Skylanders Swap Force" spent its second week in the rankings at fourth in the rankings, dropping in sales by 50 percent compared to its first week.
The real question is whether or not "Batman: Arkham Origins" can hold off some big time challengers like "Battlefield 4" or "Assassin's Creed IV" this week.
