The director of “Batman: Arkham Knight” provided several comments in regards to the potential returning characters of the upcoming open-world action-adventure video game. According to a report from Kotaku on March 7, Sefton Hill confirmed in a Game Informer interview that Joker won’t be included in the upcoming sequel, which seemingly confirms his fate from the ending of “Batman: Arkham City.”
“Batman: Arkham Knight” does feature the return of The Scarecrow, however. The character first appeared as a boss in “Batman: Arkham Asylum.” He was also referenced several times in the aforesaid “Batman: Arkham City.” For the upcoming title, he apparently used a chemical attack on the city of Gotham, causing a mass evacuation.
Oracle, who also goes by Barbara Gordon, will be coming back in the sequel as well. Some of the plot will apparently focus on the tension between Batman and her family.
“Batman: Arkham Knight” is expected to be the last game in the series to be developed by Rocksteady Studios. Aside from the character details, the studio also revealed that players will be able to drive the Batmobile for the first time.
The fourth installment of the “Batman: Arkham” is set to arrive later this year for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. You can find some screenshots from the next-generation title with the slideshow gallery to the left side of this article.
