Batman's sidekick, Robin, will be dying this week. According to a report on Feb. 26 by The Daily Mail, DC Comics announced that the Boy Wonder will not survive his next battle with evil.
The latest version of Robin is Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayen and Talia, the daughter an enemy of Ra's al Ghul. Other versions of Robin have died in the past. The latest Robin to die was in 1988.
“Comic book characters die all the time and they come back all the time,” Jackson Wiley, from Oklahoma City, said. “I'm sure they will bring back Robin in some form. You can't really kill of the Boy Wonder and not bring him back.”
Robin isn't the only superhero expected to die this year. Peter Parker and his alter ego, Spider-Man, will also die. Spider-Man will go on though. Peter Parker switched bodies with Doctor Octopus and died in his enemy's body. Dr. Octopus will become the new Spider-Man and continue Peter Parker's work.
At the time of publication, it was unknown if Robin will be brought back to the D.C. Comics. For fans of Batman and Robin, it may be hard to have a Batman comic book with the Boy Wonder.
