Max Santos, bass player of bachata music group ‘Aventura’ is stepping aside to work on a solo hip-hop album. Santos is not necessarily breaking away from the famed group, just working on a separate project dear to his heart. The group known to fans as "Kings of Bachata" is not breaking up despite rumors, and title of their current concert, “The Last In Concert.”
Santos has been performing and sampling some of his hip-hop lyrics at the group's concerts. The upcoming hip-hop album will be in English, while most of ‘Aventura’s’ hit music is in Spanish.
Santos was born and raised in The Bronx, where rap and hip-hop was conceived, and is of Dominican parentage. Bachata music, which is ‘Aventura’s’ signature, originated in the Dominican Republic.
While Santos is working to debut his rap album late this year, the Latin rapper is also guiding and collaborating with up and coming recording artists, “Miguel and John Q.” Max Santos' rap lyrics can be heard and is featured on Miguel and John Q's debut single, "Vida de Rockero."
Miguel and John Q are a Latin singing duo that sings to fast 'hip-moving' beats on popular Latin music genre called “Merengue Urbano.” The duo has a record release party planned for late this year at the legendary Paradise Theater located in The Bronx, New York.
