Basketball World 2013 action continues with Spain vs FYR Macedonia live stream friendly & TV schedule this afternoon from Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Leon in Leon, Spain. Last night, Spain defeated FYR Macedonia by a final score of 66-61 in a very exciting friendly.
Today, these same two sides meet again as they play the first back-to-back of the 2013 schedule in march towards FIBA's 2013 European Basketball Championships (EuroBasket).
Opening tipoff for this international basketball friendly is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at 3 p.m. EST (12 p.m. PST) and it'll be broadcast in high definition on ESPN-3 and Watch-ESPN Live Stream (Rematch of this Aug. 21 game is available HERE).
Despite coming away with a victory last night at Multiusos Fontes do Sar in Santiago de Compostela, Spain showed that there's still plenty of work to do before being ready to defend its EuroBasket title.
The Spaniards struggled on the defensive end after taking a 38-21 lead into the break, as FYR Macedonian team that came out firing in the second half – watch a replay of Spain-Macedonia's Aug. 20, 2013 game here.
"They have good shooters who are not afraid to take open shots – if you give them a little but of room – and when they convert they put our defense in trouble," said guard Ricky Rubio who finished with 3 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. "We went to sleep a little in the second half, but we'll just have to learn from this."
Considering we are two weeks away from tipping off EuroBasket 2013, it's going to be very interesting to see the Spaniards' conditioning are playing the second game of a back-to-back.
Today's Basketball World 2013: Spain vs FYR Macedonia live stream friendly should be a good barometer as to how close España is to becoming a three-time EuroBasket champ next month in Slovenia.
