Basketball Showcase Events Coming to the Local Area in April

The month of April is becoming the month of basketball showcase events in the local Hampton Roads area. April will feature a number of showcases that will provide tremendous opportunities for basketball players to advance their careers.

International Combine Camp – April 12; Atlantic Shores Christian School

The International Combine Camp will be hosted by Coach Sherman Givens, CEO of Sports Power Pros, on April 12th at Atlantic Shores Christian School. The event will feature agents, as well as, scouts from Germany, Spain, Mexico, and China. The games will also be live streamed to FIBA to provide even more exposure for participating players. Portsmouth Basketball Summit – April 16-17; Maury High School

The Portsmouth Basketball Summit will kick off for the first year on April 16th at Maury High School. The event will take advantage of its proximity and timing in conjunction with the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. A variety of professional basketball personnel will be in attendance at the event which will provide players an opportunity to receive maximum exposure. Portsmouth Invitational Tournament – April 16-19; Churchland High School

For the 61st year, the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament will invite 64 of the best seniors in college basketball to participate in this event. The event is a four-day, twelve game tournament that will feature representatives from every NBA and NBA D-League team. The event also features scouts and personnel from numerous international leagues. For more information concerning the event, visit the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament website.

Also, the ASSIST Student Athletes organization will be hosting their annual showcase event in the Tidewater area. The showcase provides an opportunity for high school student athletes to showcase their skills in front of college coaches in hopes of obtaining a basketball scholarship. The event was initially scheduled for March 22nd but was recently rescheduled to April 11th. The time and location has yet to be determined.
