The 2013-14 NBA season came to a close with the Spurs’ recent 4-1 series victory over the Miami Heat. However, for fans of NBA 2K14, the game of basketball never stops. During the month of July, gamers (those of the PS4 variety) will have the opportunity to compete head-to-head in an NBA 2K14 tournament in the local area.

The tournament will be held on July 6th and is open to all ages. While the time and the venue have yet to be determined, there is a $45 registration fee for all players interested. The first place winner will receive a $600 prize, along with a championship ring and trophy. The second place finisher will also receive a PS4 console and a copy of the new NBA 2k15 game.

NBA 2K15 will be released on October 7, 2014 and will feature 2014 MVP Kevin Durant on the cover. In a recent tweet, Durant eluded to a project that he was working on for NBA 2K15 . . .

Although specific game modes have not been announced for the upcoming edition of the NBA 2K series, speculation exists concerning what this secret project could be. LeBron James, the cover athlete for NBA 2K14, had his own specific game mode called “Path to Glory” which allowed players to control LeBron James in hopes to win multiple NBA championships.
