If you like York’s peppermint patties, then this recipe is perfect for you.
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, room temp
1 tsp. peppermint extract
9 cups powdered sugar
1 ½ cups chocolate chips
3 tbsp. shortening
In a mixer, combine cream cheese, peppermint, and powdered sugar, beating until smooth. Form this into 1 inch balls, then flatten into disks. Chill on wax paper for at least 1 hour. Melt your chocolate chips and shortening, stirring well. Dip the chilled patties in the melted chocolate. Return to the wax paper and chill for at least one more hour.
