Baseball adds former players to coaching staff

Former Fresno State baseball players Ryan Overland and Erik Wetzel will be returning to Fresno State to assist this year’s Bulldog squad.

Both Overland and Wetzel were part of the 2008 national championship team.

Overland will coach third base and work with hitters, outfielders and catchers, and will be replacing Shaun Larkin.

Wetzel will coach first base and work with hitters and middle infielders.

Since the 2008 championship season, Overland has coached at South Dakota State and Nevada.

Wetzel played in the Colorado Rockies organization before deciding to return to Fresno State to complete his bachelor’s degree.
