The previous record of 1,003 drinks mixed in one hour which was held by New York bartender Sheldon Wiley back in 2011 has been busted by Erik Mora of the Spearmint Rhino Gentleman’s Club in Las Vegas. To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man, and that is exactly what Mora did.
Mora mixed 1,559, cocktails on 4 December 2013, and achieved a new Guinness World Record.
Mora was required to pour drinks which had a minimum of three ingredients, one of which must be alcohol, all of which, without repeating a cocktail. He broke the record by pouring a drink every two seconds.
Mora did not break the record alone, as a battalion of cohorts provided ice-filled glasses, spirits and mixers
“I thought about breaking it two years ago and then applied this past January for the Guinness World Record, and now all my hard work has paid off. I feel like I’m the World’s Fastest Bartender,” said Mora.
The event, was sponsored by Svedka Vodka, and adjudicated by Pilip Robertson of Guinness World Records.
The most cocktails made in one hour by a team is 3,906, achieved by Germans: Matthias Knorr, Elena Barnetzki, Anna Knorr and Thomas Weinberger on the set of Guinness World Records – in Europa Park, Rust, Germany, on July 18 2012.
