In February, the Lighthouse ArtCenter and Harris Private Bank present an exclusive exhibition, New Eyes, showcasing the fine-art photography of Barry Seidman which runs through March 2, 2012. The Artist’s reception, Thursday, February 2, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Harris Private Bank, Phillips Point, 777 South Flagler Drive, Suite 140E, West Palm Beach is by invitation. A few years ago, Barry Seidman, the well-known advertising and fine art photographer, relocated to Palm Beach Gardens from New York with his long-time business partner and wife, Mary Ann Kurasz. Here he built a studio to focus on his fine art work, and he has since taken the South Florida art scene by storm.
Seidman's fine art exhibitions in Florida have included his series, titled Bagged, at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre in Delray Beach. Bloomers, a new series of monumental photographs on canvas, were presented at Palm Beach Gardens City Hall and EXOR Galleries in Boca Raton. Seidman's Beached series was shown at Meyerhoefer Gallery in Lake Worth. In November of 2009, he presented "Selection From Six," an exhibition at the Palm Beach Yacht Club which highlighted a compilation of photographs from six of his fine art photographic series: Beached, Bloomers, Drinks, Art-chi-textures, Hot Peppers, and Smoke. This past August 2011, the Artists Association of Jupiter sponsored a juried exhibition of black and white photography, and Barry was chosen as the juror.
On the internet, Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery was pleased that Barry was in three of its art exhibitions. Barry won First Place in the gallery’s initial “Surfaces” exhibition with his minimalist image Blue Wood and was the First Place winner again for “Botanicals” with his image Yellow Calla Lily. Barry also received a Special Recognition award for his image Santa Fe Moon in the “Landscapes” exhibition.
New Eyes at Harris Private Bank is a compilation of Barry’s photographic series and is representative of his work recently released in a 338-page “photobiography” also titled New Eyes. The large illustrative book is signed and numbered in limited edition. Seidman is an exhibiting member of the Lighthouse ArtCenter’s Artists’ Guild which arranged this exhibition.
