On Saturday, the Bristol-based Englishman will celebrate the 700th installment of his popular Internet-based radio program, “A Book and a Chat.” The show debuted in 2009 and has since featured hundreds of guests from around the globe—from bestselling authors including Steve Berry to local talent just starting out on their own literary journeys.
Saturday’s guest will be the multi-talented Vangie Williams, who counts professional genealogist, historian, speaker, project manager, real estate agent, and advocate for mental health care and rights among the titles that she holds in addition to that of author. A Fight for Forever is the first book in her Broken Life Journals series.
Eva himself is a veteran of television and radio interviews, having appeared on several shows in promotion of his popular and well reviewed young adult novel, Across the Pond (2009), written under the name Storyheart. It was those experiences, along with having produced shows on Public Access TV, which inspired him to create his own platform for authors.“
A Book and a Chat” has earned a loyal following among both listeners and guests, all of whom are complimentary of Eva’s good-natured, conversational style. Not so much a literary show, the program is more like “a chat over a cup of tea” that audiences are welcome to listen in on.
Congratulations, Barry – here’s to 700 more …
