Barriques Wine Cave for Tea

A wine place for drinking tea? Yes! It’s called Barriques Wine Cave, located on Monroe Street in Madison, WI. I stopped at Barriques on a Sunday afternoon to have tea with a friend.

I went to the counter and ordered Green Organic Jasmine Pearl tea. I was given a 16 oz. cup along with a small clear glass teapot with an infuser placed in the top. I took a seat at a small table and waited for my friend to arrive. I watched the hot water gradually change to a delightful green color as the tea brewed in the teapot. I waited a good five minutes before I tried the tea to make sure the flavor would be at its best.

As I raised the cup to take the first sip I could smell the jasmine. The flavorful tea was excellent.

Green Organic Jasmine Pearl tea is made from Chinese green tea that is hand-rolled into a small ball shape known as “pearls” and scented with jasmine blossoms.

Barriques has a wonderful selection of teas to choose from to satisfy any tea lover. The atmosphere is relaxed with many people working on their laptops. Also, a few students were seated at a larger table studying together.
