The 4th Annual Smart Farm's Frozen Zucchini 5K Snowshoe Adventure will take place on Sunday, January 26th, 2014. The special event also includes the Frozen Zucchini Kids event to keep the whole family occupied with fun activities, starting at 10am - 12pm. This fun winter fundraiser takes place at the Citizens Park located at 511 Lake Zurich road, Barrington, IL.

To rent snowshoes ($10), sponsor the community, donate, attend, register for the race ($35), or register kids for activities (free), please visit Smart Farm's website at .

This 5k fundraiser & outdoor kids activity event, will benefit the Smart Farm's giving to the community. Thanks to 100 volunteers in the garden, Smart Farm has provided over 6,700 lbs. of fresh produce to local pantries for families in need.

This running event is a great outdoor activity for the whole family, for a great cause. Families may consider a follow-up activity, by having the whole family donate their time in the garden, when things warm up out there.

The host is recommending warm clothes for the kids event (also there is an indoor pavilion, if the weather gets too cold), and adults should dress for the occasion, wearing winter running clothes (for safety reasons), when running in the 5k fundraiser. Everyone attending the event can look forward to finishing off the fun with a campfire, music, and hot chocolate.
