The 42nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction continues at WestWorld, in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company has announced that this flagship auction, which ends on Sunday, January 20, 2013, will be the largest event in an impressive 42 year history. A projected 1,400 classics, muscle cars, Hot Rods, exotics, Resto-Mods and contemporary collectibles are slated to cross the auction block. This will set a new world record for the largest presentation of No Reserve vehicles presented at one auction.
The world famous Barrett-Jackson 2013 Collector Car event is due to set a new record for the largest presentation of Shelby vehicles in one car auction. More than 40 Shelby vehicles are set to cross the auction block including a stellar 1965 GT 350 (LOT #5023) once owned by Ford, a 2012 GT500 50th Anniversary Super Snake (LOT #1321), and the very rare Shelby Mustang, “The Green Hornet” (LOT #5022). A special tribute to the world’s greatest automotive icon, Carroll Shelby, is planned.
Adding to the excitement at this popular Scottsdale event, the company has arranged the return of their outstanding 5000 Series, featuring more than 50 of the world’s most unique and valuable automobiles. The 5000 Series includes the desirable Salon Collection, which features the rare hand-selected vehicles including a unique muscle car, the 1971 Plymouth HEMI ‘Cuda (LOT #5025), Clark Gable’s 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe (LOT #5001) and the 1966 Original #1 Batmobile (LOT #5037) created by renowned George Barris. These high caliber, pristine vehicles are scheduled to cross the auction block beginning at approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19th.
More than 250,000 car enthusiasts are expected to converge on this location. This event marks the expansion of the amount of car tents as well as the exhibitor pavilion, which will feature more vendors and sponsors than in any previous Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions.
