The 41st Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is currently underway at Westworld in Scottsdale Arizona. More than 250,000 car enthusiasts are expected to converge at this location. This popular event will continue through Sunday, January 22, 2012.
With the final three days approaching car enthusiasts are eager to see the most pristine collector cars still to come up on the auction block. As a special treat Ford is offering muscle car lovers a chance to bid on the racetrack durability car used to create the 2013 Shelby GT500 production.
There are many events scheduled throughout the event such as Meguiars Car Care Seminars, Automobilia Auctions, Ford/GM Ride & Drives, twilight auctions and an opportunity to view the collector cars up close. The gates open daily at 8:00 a.m. with vendors and sponsor displays available for visitors.
Arrive early on Saturday to claim your seat at the auction tent. The most rare and expensive collector cars will be going up for auction. Some of the world’s most coveted vehicles will be presented by the Barrett-Jackson Salon Offering Collection.
Watch for the outstanding:
- 1954 DeSoto Adventurer II Coupe (Lot #5002.1) – one of the top 10 concept cars
- 1947 Bentley Franay Mark VI Cabriolet (Lot #5005) – a very successful postwar Bentley/Rolls Royce automobile
- 1964 Cadillac Hearse (Lot #1293) – this vehicle was used to transport President John F. Kennedy, Jr. from Parkland Memorial Hospital to the Love Field Airport in Dallas.
- The popular General Lee, the 1969 Dodge Charger (Lot #1291) the first of many used in the television series “Dukes of Hazzard”.

There are also many additional activities planned throughout the weekend. The neighboring Lifestyle Pavilion will be the venue for:
- Pet Pawshion Show on Friday
- Fuel Your Senses Culinary & Wine Fest will be held Friday evening, hosted by Suns Nite Hoops
- The Jazz, Jewelry & Bedazzled Brunch & Art Show Saturday
- The Million Dollar Diamond & Dessert Show highlighting Molina Jewelry on Friday evening (proceeds from this event will benefit the American Cancer Society)
