Barren River Lake State Resort Park, near Lucas, will ring in 2014 with a DJ hosted dance on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 8:00 p.m. to 12:15 a.m.
Prior to the dance, the Driftwood Restaurant will serve a delicious buffet for celebrants coming to the park early.
The party begins at 8:00 p.m. with DJ Cindy Cossey spinning tunes and providing dance move instructions. In addition, a big screen television will show the progress of the ball-drop welcoming in the New Year from the east coast. An hour later, party organizers will drop a balloon to mark the beginning of 2014 in the central time zone. Refreshments and party favors will be provided during the dance and party.
Barren River Lake is offering a package deal for this event priced at $179.95 that includes Tuesday night lodging, Tuesday night dinner, the dance party, and Wednesday morning breakfast for two; a cottage package is available for $299.95. Dinner and dance only is priced at $85.00 for two; dance only is priced at $20.00 per person.

Established as a state park in 1965, Barren River Lake State Resort Park facilities include a 51-room lodge overlooking a lake, 22 cottages each with two bedrooms and two baths, campgrounds, and the Driftwood Restaurant.
The park also offers meeting rooms, boating, fishing, golf, trails, horse stables, swimming, and picnic shelters. Nearby parks in the area are Mammoth Cave National Park, Old Mulkey Meeting House State Historic Site, and Dale Hollow State Resort Park.
