Once known as the “Three Tuns,” the Old General Lafayette Inn, now Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery dates back to the 18th century when General Lafayette used the building during the American Revolution.
This almost 300 year old Inn is known to be quite the haunting, it can be found on hauntedplaces.org or just ask the staff about the young woman on the second floor, who may have over stayed her welcome. Stop in for a bite and a brew for some great ghost-tales conversation.
Fresh brewing beer is made by award-winning brewer, Scott Morrison, and guests can enjoy a selection of a 30 draft craft-beers. The ever-changing beer lineup includes many seasonal selections from Barren Hill and other "visitors", such as stouts, porters, Oktoberfests, and Pumpkin beers. Chef Paul Trowbridge always curates a seasonal menu as well complete with hearty and savory fall favorites.
Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery, set in the historic General Lafayette Inn building on the outskirts of Philadelphia in Montgomery County, is a new brewpub from the owners of Devil’s Den and Old Eagle Tavern. Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery offers 30 craft beers on draft and a variety of select cans and bottles. Head Brewer Scott Morrison (five-time winner of GABF, World Beer Cup bronze medalist, formerly of McKenzie Brewing and Dock Street Brewing Co.) brews as many as twelve unique house brews that will also be available at Devil’s Den and Old Eagle Tavern.
