Barr Lake State Park is ready for Halloween with weekend activities. Barr Lake State Park is located less than 25 miles from downtown Denver, so it's a quick drive for the family.

Halloween activities:
Things are Batty at Barr Lake

Bats are amazing! They fly, use sonar, sleep upside down and can each eat up to 5,000 insects per evening! Come learn about these amazing mammals and then create bats that fly, eat and sleep.

We’re into Pumpkins

Really get to know your pumpkin, and its contents, before painting your unique jack-o’-lantern to take home just in time for Halloween! Reservations required. Limit 2. The pumpkins are free!

Explore what goes bump in the night on an hour-long hike. There will be five different stations to trick-or-treat at and learn about the animals that live at night at Barr Lake. Finish with hot cider and crafts in the Nature Center.
