Barney creator's son arrested on attempted murder charges (Video)

"I love you, you love me" may be the the show's theme song, but apparently it isn't the case for the "Barney" creator's son and his neighbor. Sheryl Leach, who co-created the PBS children's show about big purple dinosaur, is reportedly dealing with a family crisis today (Friday) after her son was arrested for attempted murder.

According to TMZ, Patrick Leach, 27 was picked up by police in Agoura Hills, CA (near Malibu) on charges of attempted murder. Leach is accused of shooting a 49 year old man in the chest on Jan. 9, capping off an on-going dispute between the neighbors. The details of the argument remain unclear. Authorities claim after the shooting, Leach left the scene by car but was picked up a few miles away.

Police confirm the victim, who has not been named, is in critical condition at UCLA following the shooting. He is expected to survive.
