Barnes and Noble stores across the country will be hosting the annual Fall Educator Appreciation Week from today through next Sunday, with lots of great discounts, events and giveaways.
As always, homeschoolers are invited to take advantage of the savings and events.
The appreciation week runs from Saturday, October 12th to Sunday, October 21st.
Individual stores are offering their own events and promotions, but all stores will offer the following:
- A 25% discount on personal and classroom purchases
- A 10% discount on DVDs and music
- Programs, giveaways and prizes for pre-K to 12 educators
Some locations are offering big incentives for educators, such as a chance to win either a NOOK or a $500 Barnes & Noble gift card (one winner per region), a 25% discount on Rosetta Stone Level 1 Language Sets, giveaways of books, posters, pencils, educator guides, sticker sheets, activity kits, tote bags and more.
To find out the schedules, promotions and locations of B&N Educator Appreciation Week events near you, just plug in your location here.
Homeschoolers will need to show their Barnes & Noble Educators Discount Card to receive the discounts. You can easily obtain a card by showing a proof of homeschooling status (such as a copy of the form you file with your state, a homeschool membership card, or providing a letter with some basic information like grade levels) and filling out a form.
Remember that educators receive a discount on all books purchased for classroom purposes all year. While the discount used to only apply to books, the site now says:
Barnes & Noble offers pre k-12 educators, librarians, and homeschoolers a 20% discount off the publisher's list price on select items that we consider suitable for use in the classroom or with the student population, including most hardcover and paperback books, toys, and games.
The discount can also be applied to purchases made online.
Check with local stores about more information.
