It's been over a year since Barley's Brewhaus in Overland Park, KS started up it's ongoing "Beer School at Barley's" series. These classes provide beer lovers a better understanding of their favorite breweries, brewers, and beers. Each class showcases a certain brewery, style of beer, or brewing topic and of course, it wouldn't be beer school without a few samples.
The upcoming Beer School at Barley's will feature Free State Brewing Company. If you recall the very first class also featured this Lawrence, KS brewery. Free State was represented by executive chef, Rick Martin and brewer, Kevin Prescott. Since then Free State has started distribution of their beer in bottles and completed a separate brewing facility that made the bottle distribution possible. Class starts at 6pm on November 15th. The beers that will be presented are Santa's Helper, C4 Imperial Black IPA, Trolley House Trippel, and Copperhead Pale Ale. Tickets are $8 and you may want to call Barley's and reserve a spot.
