'Barely Legal Pawn': Cranston, Paul play 'sleazy' characters for Emmys spoof

"Barely Legal Pawn" is the spoof being drummed up for the 2014 Emmy Awards featuring "Breaking Bad" stars, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

The promo video is getting a lot of attention as the two actors play "sleazy" characters of a fake reality TV show set in a pawn shop. NY Daily News reports August 20 that actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus is part of the spoof as well. She walks through the pawn shop's doors wanting to cash in on her Seinfeld Emmy. She plays herself in the upcoming act.

"I read somewhere that Celine Dion has her own island, and last night I had a little bit too much rosé, did some online shopping, so now I have to pay for my own island," Julia tells the two men.

Cranston is wearing way too much gold and acting cheesy in his role, seeming to not recognize Louis-Dreyfus or the Emmy award she shows him and his partner.

Paul says the award is "Tinkerbell playing with a volleyball" and thinks Julia is another actress with a name like hers.

"I knew I recognized you. I love your show, 'Weeds.' Love your show, my God!" he tells her.

Cranston admits in a one-on-one interview that he pretended to not notice Louis-Dreyfus so he could keep the prices low.
He tells her that the award is just for a supporting role, not a leading role.

Paul relates to Julia at that point because he won an Emmy for playing Jesse Pinkman on "Breaking Bad." He left his "Barely Legal Pawn" pal in the dust, siding with Louis-Dreyfus. They all agree on a bargain at the end, Huffington Post reports.

The six-minute spoof will appear on the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, August 25, with Seth Meyers hosting.
