Barefoot Cellars Bubbly Wines provide pleasure with value (Video)

Champagne! Ah, Champagne.

Even the name conjures images of style, class, and… yes, indulgence.

But champagne is more. It’s for enjoyment, for sharing, for special, and not so special, occasions. It’s for fun times and an opportunity to make anytime fun.

Barefoot Cellars has not one, but two champagne style wines which I recently tried, and I have to tell you they are FUN! Good, sparkling wine which can turn an event into an occasion.

Barefoot’s driest is the Barefoot Bubbly Brut Cuvee. A sparkling California Chardonnay, the wine begins with a nose of green apple. The aroma is gentle, but stays active throughout the taste. The crispness is accentuated by a hint if citrus. The wine is dry throughout the finish.

The Barefoot Bubbly is priced perfectly. It is under $10.00 at SRP, and at that price point, provides an excellent wine for many occasions. It’s easy to drink, fun to share and goes well, as do most sparkling wines, with many meals and parties.

Barefoot produced approximately 92,000 cases of the Brut Cuvee, making it easily found at both general merchandise stores as well as wine purveyors.

The wine characteristics:

  • Varietal: Chardonnay
  • Alcohol: 11.5%
  • Acidity: 0.70g/100ml
  • Residual Sugar: 0.80g/100ml
  • pH: 3.16

The Barefoot Bubbly Brut Cuvee is sold in the standard 750-ml bottle.

This is a fun and easily drinkable dry champagne-style wine!

Barefoot’s second champagne style wine is the Barefoot Bubbly Extra Dry.

This is also a Chardonnay-based champagne style wine which is driven by aromas of apples and peaches. It also has a hint of vanilla, which adds to the fullness of the wine. It is definitely sweeter than its cousin, the Brut cuvee.

If you are a fan of sweeter sparklers, then you will appreciate the difference between the Extra Dry and the Brut Cuvee. The finish of the Extra Dry lingers longer on the palate, adding to the wine if you are drinking it without a main meal.

In this run, Barefoot produced 57,000 cases of the Barefoot Bubbly Extra Dry. The SRP is $9.99.

  • The Barefoot Bubbly Extra Dry characteristics:
  • Varietal: Chardonnay
  • Alcohol: 11.11%
  • Acidity: 0.75g/100ml
  • Residual Sugar: 2.50g/100ml
  • pH: 3.20

The Barefoot Bubbly Extra Dry is a fun wine with a different purpose than the Brut Cuvee. Both are fun, both worth sharing with others, or if you are in a contemplative mood, taking to your quiet place and just enjoying.

Have a winederful day!
