Bare the musical comes to The Broward Center for the Performing Arts September 9 through 18

If you are a Rent or Spring Awakening fan, then the acclaimed musical bare is a must see! John Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo teamed up to write the book, lyrics by Hartmere and music by Intrabartolo. The story focuses on two gay high school students and their struggles at their private, Catholic boarding school.

The play follows their clandestine love, from their attempts to reveal themselves, to their pressures to fit in.  Bare captures the universal angst of modern youth and the gamut of problems facing them, from teenage pregnancy to the drug culture to meeting parental expectations. As they try to come to terms with who they are -- and who society thinks they should be -- they seek guidance from the Church, their friends and, ultimately, from within themselves. Bare's infectious rock music score electrifies the traditional love story, the gay love story, and the everyday insecurities of not knowing who we are and where we fit in, laying them all out for scrutiny.

The Abdo New River Room is located in The Broward Center at  201 SW Fifth Avenue Fort Lauderdale, Fl  33312.
Tickets are $30; the show runs from 9/9 through 9/18.  Visit or phone (954) 522-53354 to purchase tickets.
