May 9, MLS and CAA Sports announced that UEFA Champions League finalists FC Barcelona and Mexico's CD Guadalajara and Club America have joined the 2011 Herbalife World Football Challenge summer tournament, presented by Herbalife.
Manchester United, Manchester City, and Real Madrid have already been revealed as participants, along with MLS clubs LA Galaxy, Chicago Fire, Vancouver Whitecaps and New England Revolution.
The tournament runs from July 13-August 6 in different venues across the country.

World Football Challenge launched in 2009
World Football Challenge launched in 2009 and presented Inter Milan, AC Milan, Club America and Chelsea in a successful round-robin, six-city tour at the Rose Bowl, the Georgia Dome, MT&T Bank Stadium, Gillette Stadium, Stanford Stadium, and Cowboys Stadium.
Chelsea won the 2009 World Football Challenge with 15 points followed by Club America with eight points, Inter Milan with seven points, and AC Milan with two points. The high attendance punctuated the famous 2009 Summer of Soccer when fans turned out in droves for international games and stars.
