The Barbi twins, Shane and Sia, have been modeling since they were seven years old, but little did they know that being blonde, twins and sexy-dirty could actual save animal lives.
The two girls, who have made attempts at working their fame in the past but failed, are now teaming up with TheKittyLiberationFront.orgto advocate for animal rights.
Said perfect by Fox 411 Entertainment Blog, of the twins' attempts at success, "Their Saturday morning cartoon was banned for being too sexy. Their documentary Your Mommy Kills Animals was deemed 'too controversial.' Their MTV special was canceled for being inappropriate."
But now the girls may have something.
Their recent photoshoot with the Kitty Liberation Front features the girls doing what they do best - Looking pretty.
But this isn't the first animal-saving endeavor for the girls.
In early 2007, the twins and Joanie Laurer led an animal rights protest at UCLA, recruiting other protesters to the door of the Neuropsychiatric Institute, which has a scientific lab that performs tests on monkeys (Wikipedia).
The two models, 46, have posed together in Playboy and wrote their own book titled, "Dying to Be Healthy: A Breakthrough Diet, Nutrition and Self Help Guide" (1999) which tells the story of their lives as models and their eating disorders.
Shane and Sia have long been advocates of furry animals and educational engagement on eating disorders.
The twins lectured and spoke on television, radio, and online about eating disorders and their careers throughout the early part of the 2000s and appeared on the CBS television program 48 Hours in a piece about eating disorders, entitled "Slim Chance". After the program aired, CBS hosted a moderated online chat session in which the twins responded to questions from the public (Wikipedia).
In a recent interview with Amy Wilson (daughter of Willie Nelson), the girls were asked what advice they would have for someone looking to break into fame.
Answering for the twins, Shane said, "[Hugh Hefner] told us in order to be successful, you have to be the first of your kind, an original."
