Barbara Walters says Elisabeth Hasselbeck wasn't fired from 'The View'

On Monday, March 11, Barbara Walters stated that Elisabeth Hasselbeck was not fired from “The View.” Walters insists that the reports online are false and they have no plans for Hasselbeck to leave the show.

Walters said, “There is a particularly false story that keeps getting picked up about Elisabeth’s departure. We value her and appreciate her point of view.”

"She helps keep the show balanced. We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 35, has been a part of “The View” since 2003. Before that she appeared on the show “Survivor.”

Hasselbeck may be staying on the talk show but Joy Behar, 70 will be leaving when her contract is up in August. During Monday’s show, Barbara Walters said to Joy, “When you announced this last week it was very bittersweet.”

“I want what’s best for you. I want what’s best for all of you, but I will miss you.”
