Barbara Walters recovering from chicken pox at 83

She’s 83 years old, she’s a news legend, and she has……the chicken pox!

No, this isn’t a pox hoax. In an article dated, Monday, Jan. 28, TMZ reported that Barbara Walters is just now dealing with the viral infection that most people are done and over with during early childhood.

This hasn’t been a good month for Walters. In the midst of resting up from a head injury she received during Inauguration weekend, she now has the annoying scratching infection to add to her recovery list. Due to her current health aggravations, “The View” was understandably Walter-less today, so Whoopi delivered the news.

"We want to give you an update on Barbara," Goldberg said ... "You all know that she fell and cut her head 10 days ago, and then was running a temperature, but it turns out it is all the result of a delayed childhood."

"Barbara has the chicken pox. She'd never had it as a child. So now she's been told to rest, she's not allowed any visitors. and we're telling you, Barbara, no scratching.”

Whoopi added, "We love you. We miss you. We just don't want to hug you."

Last week, in a statement read on The View, Walters thanked "all the people who have called, written and been concerned about me."
