Barbara Walters on Tiger Woods: 'Leave the man alone' (video)
Tiger Woods is receiving support in his quest for privacy from a very unlikely source. Barbara Walters stated on Monday morning's The View broadcast that it's finally time to "leave the man alone".
Barbara Walters, who put herself on the map by interviewing celebrities embroiled in scandal and making them cry, now says that the media should let Tiger Woods escape the public eye for a little while, if only for the sake of his family.
"If he does an interview, what is he going to say?" asked The View mother hen as her band of cluckers discussed the potential repurcussions of Tiger Woods doing an interview to address the scandal that's driven him out of the golf world indefinitely. "Well number one [mistress] was this and number two was that,...Leave the man alone. He's paying a price. He wants to do right by his wife and children."

Of course, if the opportunity presented itself, Barbara Walters said she wouldn't turn down an interview with Tiger Woods, but feels: "I think he should have this time to reconstruct his life."
"It's not about do we want to hear," clarified Barbara Walters. "We want to hear every lurid detail about everything. The question is, the man has paid a big price. He has said: 'I'm leaving the public now. I'm not even going to be seen playing golf.'"
Whether or not Barbara Walters' statement that it's time to leave Tiger Woods alone means that the ladies will finally stop discussing the Tiger Woods scandal during The View "Hot Topics" segment remains to be seen.
